What’s a Roxor?
Roxors are essentially mini jeeps or classic CJ Jeep look-a-likes. They are considered side-by-sides (SXS) and you’ll see them in many of the popular ATV, UTV, and SXS magazines.
“Roxor is based on the design of the Jeep CJ of the 1960s, and Willys CJ of the 1940s.Wikipedia
A Roxor differs from a Jeep in the following areas:
- 2.5L, 4-CYL Mahindra turbo diesel engine
- Solid front and rear axles (Dana 44s)
- Heavy duty beltless transmission
- Boxed steel frame
- Leaf spring suspension
According to Mahindra, “we began making vehicles that were tested to the extreme demands of military use” and they state ” that it’s in our DNA to offer capable, durable vehicles that will out tough and outlast conventional side x sides and unibody trucks.” – Mahindra
Rent a Roxor and take it out with confidence.
Roxors are open-air vehicles that allow you to take in the scenic views unlike that of a car, truck or traditional vehicle.
To get a better idea of what a Mahindra Roxor is as far as look and feel, feel free to check out this video from Dirt Trax TV: “2019 Mahindra ROXOR Walk Around & First Impressions”.
This video mentions Roxors aren’t street legal. At the time the video was made, they weren’t. As of October 4th, 2020 and thanks to North Carolina House Bill 307, S.L.2020-40 – Roxors are now road-legal in NC on roads 55 mph and below. To be clear, Unseen Pass’ Roxors are street legal in accordance to NC law and you can drive them on any public road in Ashe County 🙂
Unseen Pass’ Roxors have been registered and tagged by the NCDMV, so there will be no hassle from law enforcement as long as your obeying the law.
Unseen Pass’ Roxors are all automatic, so you don’t have to worry about shifting gears 🙂
Stock – the Roxor comes with 62 hp with 144 lb of torque. Our units are equipped with stage 2 chips from Diesel Freaks, which nearly double the factory horsepower to that of a more traditional SXS (120 hp). This doesn’t make them overly fast or unsafe.
Fun was already off the charts, but we gave it more peppiness to make the Roxor’s more enjoyable on mountain dirt roads. With that said – we do ask that you obey the law, be respectful in the Town of West Jefferson, and respect the residents of Ashe County (Code of Conduct).

Smart Phone Routes
Use our smartphone routes and phone mount to cut out the guesswork on seeing the best, yet less traveled sights in Ashe County.
You can ride from the parking lot in West Jefferson to dirt roads down on the New River or to the peaks like Pond Mountain in Ashe County. No need to travel to West Virginia or out west – this will give you what you’re seeking.
Each Roxor comes with two smartphone Ram Mounts, which are placed in optimal locations so that you can easily follow scenic routes on your phone while keeping your eyes on the road.
Your phone goes in the mount you see above.
The mount will holds your smart phone securely.
