Choosing the right UTV for your experience can come with challenges. This article and video will help you and your family the right choice the first time. We work with guests each and every day and this is a question that comes up a lot. Which machine you choose should fit your visions and desires properly. We have a wide array of choices in UTV rentals and making the right choice will enhance your overall experience.
So let’s dive right in.
Tip 1: How Long Do You Plan to Rent?
Rental times vary from just a few hours to multiple days consecutively. If this is your first time, have little kids, or are pressed for time, a shorter rental may make sense for your group. However, we always recommend at least a half day experience. This gives you and your family time to make a variety of stops along the way, and a chance to get out of the machine and explore a bit and soak it all in along one of our well crafted custom routes.
We have several to choose from in the half day category and each provides a unique experience.

But if you are a true adventurer, a full day or multi-day rental may be exactly what you are looking for and we have multiple private and custom route experiences for you and your group. A full day will allow you a lot of ground and most importantly, a proper amount of time to immerse yourself in the National Park and surrounding areas. One thing we hear a lot is that “We wish we had more time“. The bottom line is don’t book too short and avoid that regret.
Tip 2: What Seating Arrangement and Capacity Fits Your Needs?
Our fleet of UTVs includes a variety of makes, models, and styles. Seating capacity can range from just 2 passengers to up to 6. While each passenger will need their own seat, some groups that only have 2-4 people may want to choose a 6-seat machine for the added room, comfort, and storage capacity.

If this is something you think your group would appreciate, you can always select a larger capacity UTV for these reasons. Seating capacity isn’t always strictly about the number of passengers. It is something every group should think about before you go.
Tip 3: What Style of Machine Fits Your Vision?
We basically offer two main types of machine.
Sport UTVs (2-4 Passengers)
Sport UTV machines are 2-4 person capacity and are designed more for look, feel and performance. The sport UTV will typically have an aggressive stance and look as well as an exhaust signature to match. These machines are designed to give the driver a more extreme feel.

Seating in a sport UTV also matches that same look and feel where seat designs offer a tighter fit and a more reclined seating position to hold each passenger in place. This may not be the best choice for larger passengers or those with mobility issues. Also, since the seating position is a lower center of gravity, smaller children may find it challenging to see out while driving. These factors are for sure something to consider before you rent.
Utility UTVs (6 Passengers)
Conversely, the larger 6-seat comfort and utility style of UTV solves many of those concerns. Seating position is higher in a comfort style UTV making viewing the scenery while driving much easier for all passengers especially given the larger windshield and overall larger viewing area in all directions. Seats also sit more upright aiding this concern further.

A Utility UTV also offers a smoother ride compared to a sport UTV and a much quieter sounding machine overall. Acceleration in a utility UTV is less aggressive which equates to easier driving and more control throughout your adventure.
Weather Considerations
Weather can also be a significant factor in choosing the right UTV. Sport UTVs are all open air on the sides and back with a windshield up front. If the weather turns south, you will have less protection from the elements in an open air machine. Utility UTVs come in both open air for those nice days as well as fully enclosed options with both heat and air conditioning and windows that roll up and down. Additionally, these enclosed machines offer a windshield wiper as an added benefit. A fully enclosed 6-seat UTV can handle most any weather with protection for all passengers throughout your experience. So always check the weather before you depart.
Conclusion
The bottom line is if you consider all these factors before you rent, I am confident that you will make the right choice. When you blend the duration of your rental with your vision for the day and consider the needs and desires of your party the choice often becomes clear.
